I teach courses in network science, and for some time I have been looking for a mathematically based foundational network science textbook. Thus, I am pleased to have found M. E. J. Newman's Networks: An Introduction. This book covers the fundamental concepts of network science from mathematical, modeling, application, and graphical perspectives, and can be used in my network science courses from sophomore to senior level.
