NHS is 'denying' Francis report, says patient organisation

There is a denial within the NHS to take on board Francis' recommendations in the same way the police denied the MacPherson report into institutional racism following Stephen Lawerence's murder, a committee member of the new patient champion organisation has said.

Speaking at a Westminster Health Forum event in London in April 2013, Patrick Vernon said the approach of patient involvement in the NHS so far has been 'short-termism' and he wants to make sure Healthwatch England is 'here to stay'.
