Abstract

Antioxidants help to reduce some types of brain damage and studies suggest that oxygen radicals may have a role in the reduction. Research showing that an enzyme catalyzing superoxide (O2) is produced upon N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor stimulation in cultured cerebellar granule cells is discussed.
