Dr. Lech Ozimek's passing has been noted with a sense of profound sadness by various people who extended their condolences in the email trail. Some of us met him a few times, and others worked with him; one thing that touched many of us instantly was his professional conduct. He was always, and not merely as needed, a thorough gentleman. Dr. Ozimek's life and death leave all of us a home message: behave with dignity, conscience, humility, and truth to keep the dignity of the Science. Emulating his virtues is the best way to remember Dr. Ozimek. He was a noble soul and a great friend of friends, a very competent food scientist, and a compassionate teacher with excellent human skills. May God rest his soul in peace in the chronousphere and give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
It is difficult to describe the sadness we feel these days, but we can tell that when we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us, to see what we are doing for the world (also told by Ozimek to condole the death of another friend). May we and Dr. Ozimek's family take comfort in knowing that we have an angel to watch over ALL of us, now from the COSMOS, which influences our biological function and nutritional metabolism. Let us have an oration in his name as he organized two meetings of the International College of Nutrition along with Dr. TK Basu, Dr. RB Singh and Dr. SN Acharya.
Lech Ozimek was born in June 1950 in Poland during the Communist Era. As he grew up, Lech noticed all good and bad things that happened in that type of government system. He usually described the bad stuff of communism as "the old s..." In spite of the political system, Lech had a good life in Poland; his parents had a relatively good status and were not bothered by the government. Lech became a handsome teenager and did also very well at school. He studied to obtain a Food Science and Technology degree at a local university.
