Abstract

Extracting and transforming these variables from stimulus presentation software such as E-Prime into the file formats required by analysis packages is time-consuming and error-prone, especially when events are sorted by responses. Optimus defines a simple, powerful scripting language for transforming the variables written by stimulus presentation software; in effect, it allows researchers to programatically compute the rows and columns of a spreadsheet.
