One of the most extraordinary growth industries of the last ten years or so has been the expansion in the publishing of dictionaries of psychology. To some extent this is matched simply by the expansion in the number of psychology students - psychology has been the largest growth area in academia over the past decade, way ahead of the more widely trumpeted or derided media studies in most new universities. Even taking this into account however, the growth in the number of dictionaries has been quite exceptional. I do not know if you have ever tried typing "dictionary of psychology" into BookFind - the results are quite un-nerving.
