Abstract
Este artículo desarrolla una revisión crítica del concepto partido cartel a partir de dos niveles de debate: 1) los problemas de orden teórico-metodológico en la construcción de esta categoría y sus límites para explicar el cambio partidista; y 2) la representación de los partidos y sus vínculos con la democracia dentro de la literatura especializada. El argumento de este ensayo es que el concepto partido cartel precisa de mayores controles empíricos que validen su hipótesis, así como de una evaluación de su modelo literario.
