In many ways, the Pocket book of technical writing for engineers and scientists is the ideal textbook, from a student's perspective. It is direct and full of practical guidelines for writing basic technical documents such as reports, instructions, and manuals. It includes examples specific to engineering, such as a description of a 33-kilohm, 1-watt carbon resistor; the Tube 16XL 1000000 Specification Sheet; a proposal for a technical review committee; and a recommendation report on the transfer maneuvers for a satellite. In addition, author Leo Finkelstein, Jr., covers current "hot" topics such as ethics and team building, and helps students prepare for entry into their careers.
