A study of infants receiving propranolol treatment for infantile haemangiomas identified three infants who developed side effects of cyanosis and cold extremities, agranulocytosis and low temperature.
A 3-month-old boy received oral propranolol 2 mg/kg/day. There were no adverse reactions after his first dose, and his second dose was administered 20 hours later. Ten minutes later, he abruptly developed cold extremities and severe cyanosis on his face, lips and limbs. His HR and BP decreased to 80...
