This year saw the RCM's first ever virtual RCM conference, so packed with brilliant speakers and sessions that even intermittent broadband couldn't stop it
Day 1
SESSION 1: How the RCM responded to COVID-19, challenges, successes, lessons learnt Gill Walton, Mary Ross-Davie, Mary Renfrew and Soo Downe reflected on how evidence that came in "like a tsunami" was analysed to provide a lifeline of guidance to support members on the frontline.
SESSION 2: Who cares for carers? Prerana Isser, chief people officer, NHS England, discussed the need to be more inclusive. COVID-19 has been a catalyst for change and conversations about mental health are a fundamental part of that. Julie Richards, HOM, Powys, shared their best practice, while Nerys Kirtley, lecturer Cardiff University, discussed the impact of COVID-19 on student learning.
SESSION 3: Improving quality and safety; the OASI project and a mother's perspective Sara Webb, formerly lead midwife on Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injury (OASI), Birmingham, discussed running the specialist service while mother, Rhiannon Davies described the impact perinatal trauma had on her life.
