Abstract

The paper seeks to retrace the electoral journey of modern Romania, highlighting the general synchronization procces of democratization of the vote, as well as the changes that occured in the practice of parliamentary election patterns. The favored theory suggests that the democratic development of Romania was coincident with the use of PR-type elections. The first segment of the paper examines the period of evolution between the census vote and the universal suffrage and the system of majority prize. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
