The goal of economic research is to expand and confirm our knowledge and make it relevant to the contemporary world. Economics, like many disciplines, has a more artistic side and a scientific side. It is a science in terms of its accumulated knowledge base, the ways this knowledge is described, and the procedures that are used for the knowledge accumulation. It is both art and science in the application of the accumulated knowledge to current issues and problems. The more multidisciplinary the applied economics problem being solved is, the more practice of art is needed to utilize concepts from other disciplines in the real world problem researched. Thus, research methodology in economics integrates both art and science.
This book provides insight into the procedural aspects of research methodology in economics...
