This book encourages teachers to develop a curriculum to alert students to global injustice, to seek explanations, and to encourage activism. The book is partisan toward the unjust aspects of globalization but does remind teachers to respect the importance of diversity of opinion. If there is any shortcoming, it is that the book has the potential to present a bleak and hopeless world. Teachers will need to carefully mix this material with other materials that show hope and promise in the world.
Articles and activities are aimed at students ranging from the upper elementary grades through post-high school. Some readings and activities would work well with teach-in-service, college-level courses, and adult education....
