This volume arises from Craig R. Koester's experience teaching the Book of Revelation, and, in particular, from the questions posed by his students both in seminary and in congregational settings. Many of these questions are inspired by some of the more fantastic interpretations of Revelation. K.'s purpose is to provide a solid, scholarly interpretation of this book that presents the shortcomings of future-oriented readings of the text. For this reason, in the first chapter, K. deals with the history of the interpretation of the book.
