Abstract
Univariate analyses showed that patients with postoperative complications had higher Alvarado score, increased temperature on admission, longer duration of symptoms, higher C-reactive protein (CRP) level, white blood cell (WBC) count, and neutrophil count, and larger appendix diameter (Table 1). [...]this study demonstrated that preoperative factors could predict postoperative complications following appendectomy in children. [...]in the emergency setting, the diagnosis and the risk assessment should be accurate to identify such factors.
