Martin Gilbert first published his Atlas of Jewish History in 1969. Forty-one years ago. To say that his work has stood the test of time would perhaps be an understatement, when one considers that this book is now in its eighth edition. This edition, which succeeds the seventh of 2006 (RR 2006/346) has not undergone an actual rewrite; rather it has been updated to reflect the changing Jewish Diaspora and therefore history.
