Rupert Murdoch: An Investigation of Political Power By David McKnight Allen & Unwin, 2012
Rupert Murdoch is no ordinary Australian media mogul, argues author David McKnight, but one who has decisively shaped US, British and Australian politics over the past 30 years. Murdoch has a reputation for making and breaking governments. His ideas have substantially entrenched US global corporate interests in Australia, the UK and United States, that began with the election of the Reagan and Thatcher governments in the 1980s.
David McKnight, Associate Professor at the University of NSW and former Sydney Morning Herald and ABC journalist, argues that Rupert Murdoch's ideas are "among the most influential in the world and have formed part of the conservative revolution in thinking over the last 30 years.
