Four women and two men [not all ages stated] developed scopolamine patch withdrawal syndrome after the withdrawal of scopolamine patches [Transderm Scop]. Each patch contained 1.5mg of scopolamine, delivered as 1mg over three days for the prevention of nausea and vomiting.
A man applied a patch behind his left ear 4 hours before departing on a cruise ship. After 2 days, the patch loosened while showering, but could still be stuck to his skin; it had been completely removed on day 6. He applied another patch on day 10, which was removed 24 hours later.
