Abstract

To the Editor: A 21-year-old nonsmoking woman with a history of asthma was seen for wheezing and dyspnea of six weeks' duration; these symptoms had been treated with adjusted doses of theophylline preparations, inhaled beta-agonists, and inhaled steroids. The results (Table 1) demonstrated a clinically important decline in flow after exposure to paste-based toothpaste and a moderate response to bronchodilators.
