The history of the Roman Catholic Church in the South and its responses to the race question and the civil rights movement only recently have come into their own, and stories of Catholic efforts to promote racial justice are still not well known. Any effort to shed light on this important chapter of American history is welcomed. In Sisters of Selma, the director Jayarsi Majumdar Hart unfortunately is not sure what she has set out to accomplish, and, as a result, the theme of her work is unclear....
