The South Pacific Nurses Forum was formed in 1982 by South Pacific nurses who were attending the 1980 International Council of Nurses in Los Angeles, United States and has met in a different location in the South Pacific every two years since then.
Member nations who attend the forum are from Aotearoa (New Zealand), American Samoa, Australia, Cook Islands, East Timor, Fiji, Republic of Kiribati, Nauru, Niue Island, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
