Standards: A Core AWWA Mission

Abstract

Through the years, the process has changed some-what, but the standards program is still central to AWWA's core mission. Today there are more than 130 standards covering the essential components and chemicals used by water systems as well as pipe installation and disinfection techniques. The standards represent the concerted efforts of more than 1,600 dedicated volunteers supported by equally committed AWWA staff under the aegis of the Standards Council.
