Abstract By reviewing and analyzing the researches about the effects of Luteoloside on the respiratory system, the cardiovascular system and the central nervous system and its anti-pyretic and anti-inflammatory effects, antiviral and anti-cancer effects, the paper presented that Luteoloside had strong effects on sterilization, antiphlogosis, antipyresis and analgesia. And it also played a good role in antiviral and anticancer. At present, many researches focused on the extraction and separation of natural product, but little was known about the theory of medicinal property. And the absorption, distribution, biotransformation and metabolic process in vivo were ambiguous. Its mechanism of action is still needed to be studied. In the future, studies about these aspects could benefit the therapeutic action and avoid adverse reactions.

1 Preface
Luteoloside is a kind of natural flavone that extensively exists in plant. For a long time, studies about the physiological activity of glucoside and aglycone have been the hot spot of seeking effective clinical medication. By comprehensively analyzing the pharmacodynamic action of Luteoloside, we expected to provide the basis for the development and utilization of Luteoloside.
2 Luteoloside in plant sources
Luteoloside, also named Luteolin-7-0-glucoside or Cynaroside, is a kind of flavonoid glycosides and its chemical structural formula was shown in Fig. 1. Its aglycone is luteolin and it is named so because it's originally extracted from Reseda odorata L. , Resedaceae. Currently it's discovered that Luteoloside mainly exists in the leaves of Dracoceplalum integrifolium Bge. , the dry over-ground part of Schizonepeta tenuifolia (Benth) Briq. , the leaves of Sophora angustifolia Siebold et Zuccarini, the whole plant of Microlepedeza seriata Mekino, the leaves of Cynara scolymus L. , Lonicera japónica Thunb. and the stem leaf of Agrimonia pilosa Ledeb. var. Japónica Miq. Nakai[1]. The content of Luteoloside in honeysuckle is the highest which reaches 0. 09%[2]. Luteoloside ( C21 H^ 0M ) has been used as an index to control the quality of honeysuckle in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, 2005[31. Other traditional Chinese medicinal materials that use the content of Luteoloside as an index of their quality are FLOS CHRYSANTHEMI and CALYX SEU FRUCTUS PHYSALIS141.
