Abstract On November 20, 2014, Professor Joanne Conaghan and Dr. Yvette Russell met at the University of Bristol Law School (UK) to discuss Conaghans most recent book Law and Gender (2013, Oxford University Press). This paper is an edited transcript of their discussion, the question and answer session with the audience that followed, and includes Conaghans reections on her long and varied career as a feminist legal scholar. The discussion was chaired by Dr. Devyani Prabhat and organised as part of Bristol Law Schools Women in Law seminar series.

Devyani Prabhat (DP): It is a great pleasure to have Professor Joanne Conaghan talking about her book Law and Gender (2013) today. Joanne is well known for her extensive and rich contributions to feminist theory, law and gender. She also teaches tort law and is Head of School here at the University of Bristol Law School. Before she came to Bristol in 2013, she was the Head of School at Kent Law School.
The focus of todays talk and the discussion between her and Dr. Yvette Russell is on her book. There will be an opportunity to ask questions from the oor at the conclusion of the discussion.
Joanne and Yvette have previously collaborated with each other looking at rape myths and rape law (Conaghan and Russell 2014), so it will be really interesting to have this discussion about Joannes work between the two of them. Ill hand it over
