This book presents a uniquely interesting collection of articles spanning a divergent range of political, economic and social realities and experiences, all of which comprise "third world" feminisms. The uniqueness of the collection derives from the fact that the authors have done more than noting and exploring "common differences" to affirm their solidarity in spite of these differences. In fact, Third World Women and the Politics of Feminism has located feminism in a global, cross - cultural context and, in so doing, defines this international contextualization as the only approach which allows for moving beyond women's "common differences" to really working together.
