As part of the Contemporary Approaches to Film & Media series, The Time of Our Lives: Dirty Dancing and Popular Culture, edited by Yannis Tzioumakis and Sián Lincoln, contain sixteen essays that offer mul tiple perspectives for understanding the longevity of the film Dirty Dancing (1987). The book's four sections focus on the film's context, reception, nostalgia, and beyond, providing a panoramic view of Dirty Dancing's success. Both editors of the collection are established in the field of media studies. Tzioumakis holds the title of senior lecturer in communication and media at the University of Liverpool; his previous titles include American Independent Cinema: An Introduction (2006) and Hollywood's Indies: Classics Divisions, Specialty Labels and the American Film Market (2012). Lincoln is a senior lecturer in media studies at Liverpool John Moores University; she is the author of the newly published Youth Culture and Private Space (2012).
