This manual is produced in loose leaf format and contains, in the main, reproducible information, exercises and activities designed to be used by training assessors, or resource persons, who may become involved in either assessment or development centres. Whilst the term Assessment Centre is referred to throughout the text, the methodology and approach to assessor training within the manual is suggested as being largely interchangeable for either assessment or development centre. Where there is any notable difference, this is dealt with in an appropriate section.

The author, Lindy Strudwick has produced a practical guide aimed at ensuring that assessment/development centre personnel are both well briefed and properly trained in preparation for involvement in such centres. The manual is intended to be used by trainers who are already skilled in training delivery. Additionally it is advised that they are fully conversant with assessment/development centre processes, having possibly already been involved in running or assessing at a centre before.
