Transport in the Urban environment

In 1987 the Institution of Highways and Transportation (IHT) published the technical manual, Roads and Traffic in Urban Areas (RTUA). Since then there have been radical changes in the way that transport is viewed by the public and there have been marked changes in policy. No longer are transportation plans designed to predict and provide for unrestrained growth of car use.
