Four women in their 30s-50s [ages not clearly stated] developed papulopustular acneiform eruptions following treatment with trastuzumab.
A woman in her 40s developed papulopustular acneiform eruptions following treatment with trastuzumab. She presented with 3-day history of mildly pruritic, extensive rash on her face, neck, and chest. She had started neoadjuvant 3-weekly trastuzumab therapy consisting of 8 mg/kg loading dose followed by 6 mg/kg maintenance dose [route not stated] for the treatment of stage IA ductal carcinoma 10 days prior to the presentation. Her physical examination showed grade 2 papulopustular eruptions involving her face, inferior scalp, chest, and back. She received treatment with minocycline, clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide. Within 9 days, her eruption improved dramatically, was nearly clear at 4 weeks and it completely resolved at 3 months.
