Special Issue Dedicated to Dr. Arne Schousboe
Dr. Arne Schousboe
This issue of Neurochemical Research consists of a number of contributions which have been assembled in order to pay tribute to Prof. Arne Schousboe, distinguished scientist and a prominent member of the Neurochemistry community.
Since 1990 he has been associated with the Royal Danish School of Pharmacy as Professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Pharmacology. Prior to that he served for almost 20 years as an Associate Professor of Biochemistry in the School of Medicine, University of Copenhagen at The Panum Institute.
He was born and raised in Copenhagen and in 1963 enrolled at the University of Copenhagen, graduating in biochemistry in 1968. Ten years later he received his doctoral degree (D.Sc.) in natural sciences, again from the University of Copenhagen. Prior to that he had worked for two years (1972-74) in the laboratory of Dr. Eugene Roberts at the City of Hope National Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.
