Here is another sign of the end of the Cold War and the opening up of Eastern Europe and Russia. This series has some earlier titles dealing with Aeroflot and Russian aircraft in general[1-4]. But this is the first Russian design bureau (the equivalent of a manufacturing company in the UK or USA) to be covered in the Putnam Aeronautical series. In many ways it is fitting that it should be Tupolev to start the trend: he was an early pioneer of Soviet aviation and since then the design bureau has produced a range...
