I was surprised that someone had taken the time to write a volume of 240 pages about the achievements of the International Task Force on Hepatitis B Immunisation. William Muraskin explains: "I kept wishing that someone would take an aggressive approach to the epidemic, in opposition to the cautious, self-protective way that seemed to dominate American policies. Much of my enthusiasm for the Task Force derives from the contrast I found between the halting effort in the United States and the dynamic activity of the Task Force."
