Visitors to the National Maritime Museum can see a marvellous collection of models, artefacts and pictures, and even a nearly complete ship. What they usually do not see is the largest collection of ship plans in the world. Chatham have now arranged to publish a series of large-format books to make a representative selection of this valuable resource available to the general reader. The first volume, edited by an expert on the ships of that day, covers the warships of the Napoleonic period.
