Abstract

Mariana Enríquez (Buenos Aires, 1973) makes use of the supernatural in «Cuando hablábamos con los muertos» in order to create a different space from which to approach the Argentine past. This subsequently gives rise to a reflection on memory and its reinterpretation through time in the face of collective traumas. To achieve this effect, the author works with the idea of the fantastic as an opportunity to provoke a sense of horror in the reader. This reaction is triggered by the apparition of ghosts and their interaction with a group of adolescent girls who are trying to gather information on those people who disappeared during the military-civilian dictatorship inArgentina.

Mariana Enríquez (Buenos Aires, 1973), hace uso de lo sobrenatural en «Cuando hablábamos con los muertos» para potenciar un espacio otro desde dónde aproximarse al pasado argentino, produciendo una reflexión acerca de la memoria y su reinterpretación a través del tiempo ante traumas colectivos. Para lograr lo anterior, la autora trabaja la idea de lo fantástico como posibilidad para producir horror en el lector. Este sentimiento se da a través de la aparición de fantasmas y su interacción con un grupo de chicas adolescentes que buscan indagar acerca de los desaparecidos por la dictadura cívico-militar en Argentina.
