Yamba Welding & Engineering (YWE) - established in June 1974 - will celebrate 37 years of building quality commercial vessels this year.
Located in Yamba - a small seaside village on the New South Wales north coast - has definite advantages, especially when it includes being situated on the biggest river on the eastern seaboard of Australia with national parks on both sides of the river. What better place for testing and triaHing boats.
YWE has had a long relationship over this time with Baird Publications, which commenced publishing in 1978 with Professional Fisherman magazine.
There have been quite a few changes and many advances over the years, and during this time YWE has built a strong reputation as a quality builder of both commercial and recreational aluminium vessels.
YWE has built many different types of aluminium vessels, including a specialised series of pilot boats, well suited to the remote areas and different sea states and conditions where they work. The company has also built many diffèrent types of patrol boats and has been complimented on the strength and handling qualities that have made these boats ideal for working in rough conditions and in emergency situations.
YWE has experience utilising different hull forms including monohulls, catamaran hulls, trihulls and RHIBs to suit different conditions and applications.
