MICROGRAFX
After Micrografx Inc. president Gordon Tucker led the developer's ongoing restructuring during the quarter, he was replaced by J. Paul Grayson soon after the period ended.
Meanwhile, Micrografx's automated business graphics division leveraged the popularity of ABC FlowCharter with ABC ToolKit, a product built on FlowCharter that provides tools for companies implementing Total Quality Management.
In addition, the professional graphics unit released Designer 4.1 Technical Edition, a remake of the high-end graphics program. Micrografx's At Home division released the Crayola Amazing Art Adventure and Crayola Art Studio, the fruit of Micrografx's partnership with Binney & Smith.
Micrografx, Richardson, Texas, also established the MetaSys Change Management Group subsidiary, to offer training and services for restructuring companies.
Snapgrafx, the faltering charting program, was renamed ABC SnapGraphics and is being given away until Sept. 30. Tucker used to market potato chips for Procter & Gamble and is well-versed in consumer-sales techniques.
While financial results were not available at press time, chief financial officer Greg Peters predicted a quarterly loss due to seasonally flat revenue and the costs of rolling out new products. Furthermore, the company changed the end...
