Law enforcement and political leaders from 13 California cities convened to advance the California Cities Gang Prevention Network that addresses gang and youth violence while sharing information on successful intervention programs.
From the "City at Peace" initiative in Salinas to an expanded "Operation Phoenix" program in San Bernardino, teams of city and law enforcement officials and school administrators are working with a variety of community partners to focus their attention on developing strong and viable strategies to reduce gang violence.
The National League of Cities and the National Council on Crime and Delinquency are co-sponsoring the Gang Prevention Network.
Participating cities are Fresno, Los Angeles, Oakland, Oxnard, Richmond, Sacramento, Salinas, San Bernardino,...
