When the invitation came to test-drive the 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier, I jumped. As an owner of a '91 Cavalier, I was anxious to see what improvements have been made. The fact that my test driving would be done deep in the heart of Texas, in the rolling green Hill Country around San Antonio, and that I would be lodged in the Hyatt Regency resort there had not a whit to do with my decision to head south.
And if you believe that, I have a 1991 Cavalier to sell you. Not that I have anything against my car, not at all, but so many improvements have been made that I'd gladly trade it in for a '95.
The changes I noticed immediately include: dual airbags and ABS brakes, breakaway outside rearview mirrors, more glass and better visibility, a fold-down rear seat that extends cargo capacity, rear windows that open, a couple more inches of foot room in the rear, adjustable front head restraint, rear as well as front-seat cup holders, rear-seat air ducts, and a single key to operate everything.
