After years of relying on local retailers, two popular national furniture brands will be opening their own new showrooms in Hartsdale later this year.
Drexel Heritage specializes in American and European traditional styles, while Henredon offers a more upscale mix of classical, traditional and European furnishings. Both are brands of Furniture Brands International, a St. Louis-based corporate parent that sells furniture under four other brands, including Broyhill, Thomasville, Lane and Maitland-Smith.
Drexel will open a 16,000-square-foot showroom and Henredon one of 10,000 square feet, both within 130 South Central Ave. The building has been vacant since the men's clothing store Today's Man shut its doors last spring as part of a chain-wide shutdown following its second bankruptcy filing in seven years.
