I'm not sure if it was the vehicle, my state of mind, or perhaps just the power of suggestion, but once I got behind the wheel of the new Ford Escape, I wanted to keep driving, with no destination in mind. The Escape SUV fits Goldilock's description of baby bear's porridge - just right. To explain, I test drove the F-150 SuperCrew for a week right before driving the Escape. With the F-150, I needed the side-step bars to help launch me into the cab. However, using the optional side-step bars on the Escape made me hit my head while trying to get in. After taking Excedrin to alleviate the headache, I made a mental note not to try that for the rest of the week.
