AT THE TELECOM Interactive conference in Geneva this week, 3Com will unveil its aggressively priced second-generation Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) products, which include ATM support and network management tools.
The new pricing should make it more affordable for Internet service providers to add support for highspeed data access over ADSL.
"The plan is to offer service providers a viable alternative to dedicated leased lines, and in some cases ISDN, at less than $400 per connection;' said Mark Huntzinger, director of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) system product management at 3Com.
The second round of products will include:
* the Affinity Line Concentrator DSL Access Multiplexer for service providers, (LC DSLAM);
