Bill Rupp is leaving next week for a tour of Washington, Ohio and Georgia.
The trip is no vacation for this busy executive. Rupp, who is Excel Corp.'s executive vice president, spends about two-thirds of every month traveling to the company's beef producing plants.
Rupp's career has had many highlights since he joined the company in 1983. He started with Excel as a management trainee after completing a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of South Dakota. Six years later, he accepted a company promotion and transferred to Alberta, Canada.
Looking for challenges
By 1992, he was general manager of a 200-person facility in Friona, Texas, and in 1995 he was promoted to vice president of operations.
