When David Hoeft swung his first deal as president of D & K Properties LLC, he had with him his 2-year-old son and a lot of misgivings.
"I bought three properties at auction for my first deal, and my son was with me. As I headed back home, I had this lump in my throat," Hoeft says,. "I wanted to turn around. I didn't feel I could make it work. But if you want something badly enough, you always find a way."
