CHARLESTON - Glance at the name Soho's, and a patron might think New York City was the inspiration for this Charleston restaurant that evokes the cool, jazzy atmosphere of a bustling upscale Manhattan eatery
Actually it's a happy coincidence. Two years ago, Bill Sohovich opened a sister restaurant to his successful downtown restaurant, Blossom Deli, and named it after himself. Situated within the historic Capitol Market complex, the restaurant offers Charleston a departure from traditional Italian food and gives patrons an entire experience, complete with live jazz music on the weekends.
Sohovich describes his restaurant as "contemporary Italian cuisine with a great wine list and good bar."
"We have so many regular customers at Blossom, and we were changing the menu frequently, so I thought another restaurant with a contemporary ambience would give my regulars another place to go. And we had the opportunity to do something new - a bar, which Blossom doesn't have and it's been a huge success."
