Abstract

The Air Force Scientific Advisory Board panel on "Maintaining Technology Superiority for the USAF" is slated to present its interim findings at an April 12 meeting at Kirtland Air Force Base, NM, according to a March 29 Federal Register notice. George Muellner -- a retired Air Force lieutenant general who was program manager of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter at its inception in the mid-1990s and later head of Boeing's Advanced Defense and Security Systems -- is leading the study, which is expected to be finished by July. [...]the advisory board is to recommend roadmaps for developing technologies deemed critical and propose how to execute "recommended changes in the S&T and acquisition enterprise to rapidly mature and transition them," according to the memo.
