Apex Clean Energy and Newfield Exploration Mid-Continent Inc. have reached an agreement in which the oil and gas company will halt its claims against Apex in exchange for the wind developer pausing construction on part of its planned Kingfisher Wind project in Oklahoma.
Newfield Exploration pulled its request for an emergency temporary restraining order March 24 after attorneys for the company worked out an agreement with attorneys for Apex Clean Energy at the Kingfisher County Courthouse, The Oklahoman reported March 25.
"Both parties have agreed to postpone a hearing while we seek a resolution that addresses all concerns," Apex Clean Energy spokeswoman Dahvi Wilson said. "We are hopeful such a resolution will be found, and we look forward to working with Newfield through this process."
The 298-MW Kingfisher Wind project is being built in Canadian and Kingfisher counties and has a projected in-service date of December 2015.
