Abstract
The Supreme Court of Canada has agreed to hear an appeal by the federal government on whether the rights of businessman Karlheinz Schreiber, a key figure in the so-called Airbus affair, were violated by federal government lawyers. They had sent a letter to Swiss authorities naming Mr. Schreiber and seeking help in investigating alleged kickbacks in the sale of Airbus jets to Air Canada. Former prime minister Brian Mulroney also figured in the discussions.
