The Alberta government is counting on Calder Bateman to persuade Albertans to exercise, eat right and pursue a healthy lifestyle. Alberta Health and Wellness signed the Edmonton agency to a three-year contract, worth $1.8 million in the first year, to create its "Healthy Alberta Campaign." Marvin Luethe, director of publication services for the government's public affairs bureau, says the multi-media campaign should kick off this fall. Luethe says Calder Bateman, which beat out shortlisted Calgary agencies Ogilvy & Mather and Parallel Strategies and Edmonton's Margaret Kool Marketing and Palmer Jarvis DDB, won the account because of a "passionate proposal," its realistic expectations and its experience in social marketing.
