David Ripley of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland, requested a routine that aligns the attributes associated with theatrical lighting plans. He sent a sample drawing, shown in figure 1, that has lighting symbols placed in various positions and angles. Some of the attribute text appears upside down, and the text orientation makes it difficult for those reading the drawings. The AutoLISP solution is ATT-ROT.LSP, which automatically rotates all attributes so that they are horizontal. Simply start the AutoLISP program, and it aligns the attributes as shown in figure 2. Download the ATT-ROT.LSP file from CADALYST's Web site, as described in the box at right, and store it in your AutoCAD Support directory or any local AutoCAD directory.
