Videoconferencing has been a perk for companies with their own facilities, but Memphis-based International Conference and Business Center and its Hollywood, Fla.-based partner, Metropolitan Interactive Videoconference Network, are trying to bring videoconferencing to Memphis companies that may not be able to afford their own facilities.
MIVNET is one of the largest worldwide alliances of owner-operated public room videoconferencing. It recently launched a major upgrade to its World Wide Web portal that makes it easier for users to locate and schedule videoconference rooms from MIVNET's global videoconference site location directory.
Jennifer Pedigo, conference coordinator for ICBC, says the site helps companies that may have their own conference rooms find rooms in other cities where business partners are located.
